The FRAG Center Video Game Design Camp is a program intended to stimulate activity, offer education and provide students with an alternative to an unproductive summer vacation.
With a course curriculum fit for ages 12 to 20, each student is permitted to learn at their own pace, as well as from each other. No previous programming knowledge is necessary; however basic computer skills are required.
Taught by Jason Eaton, a Computer Science graduate and apprentice of the artificial intelligence legend,John E. Laird, this course takes a youthful approach to both teaching and learning.
For availability, two separate courses will be conducted. Session 1 will run July 20 through 24, and Session 2 will run July 27 through 31, both 9 AM to 5 PM. Students will have a chance to stretch their legs and eat a lunch they have brought at noon, and again at 3:00 PM when they will have a half hour to socialize, internet-surf, or simply relax.
By integrating video games with the art of technology that lies behind it, time flies and education is made easy.
